Marcus Monroe is a New York City based award winning comedian. His show is a high-energy blend of innovative humor with in your face comedic banter riddled with awkwardness.. He is the recipient of the prestigious Andy Kaufman Award and has recently appeared on The Late Show, HBO, MTV, and ABC. The New York Times has selected Marcus’s show as a NYT critics’ pick 4 times and calls Marcus “one of the most entertaining performers to watch in New York City.” He is a favorite among cruise lines, performing arts centers, universities and festivals. Most recently he has performed at the New York Comedy Festival, Bonnaroo, TedxBroadway, and Outside Lands along side with Neil Patrick Harris. This past year Marcus starred in the Olivier Award winning Off-Broadway and London production of La Soireé.“The Rise and Fall of Marcus Monroe,”  which debuted to rave reviews at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival was a smash hit earning multiple 5 star reviews and a sold out run at ART New York and Ars Nova in New York City. In 2019, Marcus was passed at the world famous Comedy Cellar in New York City and performs stand up nightly.

In the beginning of 2020, Marcus signed with comedy manager Rory Rosegarten who currently has a mighty roster of comedy legends including David Klein, Ray Romano, Brian Regan and Tom Green.

Since spring of 2020, Marcus has shifted to virtual shows and performed over 100 virtual performances and sets (including being Zoom bombed by Dave Chapelle). As states begin to safely open up again Marcus is back on the road performing at comedy clubs, colleges, and corporate events. In winter of 2022, Marcus released ‘Stoopid’ a bite sized animated talk show which takes place on the stoop of the Comedy Cellar. Marcus served as an executive producer and co-creator on this project which can be found on YouTube.
